Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) was notified about the potential early implementation of federal funding cuts originally proposed in the 2026 Federal Budget.  These reductions may affect the 2024-2025 District budget, which recently closed.

As the 2024-2025 school year winds down, Visalia Unified School District is turning feedback from students, staff, and families into action, using it to launch pieces of action items to be implemented as part of the district’s first comprehensive strategic plan, Forward 2030: A Community-Driven Blueprint for the Future.

Nearly 700 Visalia Unified students were recently honored for exceptional language milestones, demonstrating significant progress in both English language proficiency and multilingual achievement. These results highlight the effectiveness of Visalia Unified language programs and the dedication of its educators, students, and families.

Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) set the standard for supporting at-risk students with the recent recognition of two of its non-traditional high schools: Creekside Community Day School and Sequoia High School. Both schools were honored by the California Department of Education (CDE) as a Model Community Day Schools (MCDS) and Model Continuation High School, respectively. These recognitions reflect VUSD’s commitment to providing a holistic approach to education, addressing the barriers students face in traditional school settings.
